Site Cheneh Project
The Quarry Mining and Manufacturing of Quartz Slab
Quartz is one of the most valuable industrial minerals, known for its purity, durability, and wide applications in the global building materials industry. The deposits at Cheneh, Terengganu, provide a strong foundation for future growth, supplying high-grade quartz that can be refined into slabs, tabletops, and other advanced products. Through responsible mining and careful resource management, the site not only secures premium raw materials but also supports long-term industrial development, job creation, and Malaysia’s growing presence in international markets.
Grade 1 : HIGH GRADE SILICA QUARTZ
Grade 1 will be used for pulverized, table top, and slab production due to its high silica quality. However, the reserve quantity for this high-quality grade is lower than expected.
Grade 2 : MEDIUM/ORDINARY GRADE SILICA QUARTZ
Grade 2 shows majority of the total reserve, which the quantity is much higher than Grade 1. This grade it is not suitable for table top or slab application. However, it meets the application in smelting industry. Unfortunately, the value of this grade in smelting industry is low.
